Edible Oil is an essential part of cooking for Indian food. In every part of India and in every kind of Indian cuisine oil has always been an essential ingredient. Whether its North Indian chole bhautra or South Indian dosa, oil is prerequisite for almost all dishes.
In market these days so many varieties of edible oil are available like coconut oil, peanut oil, soyabean oil etc so many other nut and vegetable oils. In our homes, traditionally we use ghee for cooking as well as seasoning. But lately I had been hearing a lot about olive oil benefits. So I chose Cesar brand olive oil that comes from famous and the largest manufacturers of Premium Olive Oil in the World Borges from Spain.
I took it from Auchaan Hypermarket. Its pomace olive oil, which is best form of olive oil for Indian cooking because you can use it for frying and high heat cooking also. There are basically 3 types of olive oil Extra Virgin, Virgin and pomace olive oil.
Price – INR 1700 for 5 liters.
Shelf life – 36 months
Olive oil is basically a fat obtained from the olives, a tree corp of the Mediterranean basin. The oil is produced by grinding whole olives and extracting the oil by mechanical or chemical means. It is commonly used in cooking, for skin care and pharmaceuticals etc.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Virgin Olive Oil are mainly used for cold dishes like salads, dressings, pasta etc.”Extra virgin” olive oil comes from the first pressing of olives, and retains the most flavor, aroma and lots of nutrients. It is should be heated max up to room temperature only, else high heat can damage the flavor and nutrients in the oil.
Likewise Virgin olive oil comes from second pressing of olives.
And olive pomace oil is obtained by treating the olive residue with solvents to extract oil, refining and then blending this product with Extra Virgin oil in order to enhance the product. And, this oil is ideal for cooking all types of Indian cuisine.
My experience with Cesar Olive Pomace Oil is wonderful as I shed 4 kgs of weight after using it continuously for 6 to 7 months and my hubby got his blood pressure problem okay. I have even tried applying it on my hair and skin. And the results are marvellous. While most of you might have applied Olive Oil on hair, let me share the benefits of applying it on skin. During winters, my skin gets dry and craves for deep moisturization. My regular moisturizer never did justice to my skin in cold winters. That is when I tried applying it on my face before going to bed and Voila! I woke up with super soft, well moisturized glowing face. But I would suggest you to do a patch test before applying it on face as oil application on face might result in break outs for some beauties.
